Aloha!

My name is Carrie Powell and I am pleased that you have stopped by to view my site.  It is definitely a work in progress and may take a while to develop it into what I hope it will be someday.

When I was 12 years old, my mother started teaching me to sew.  I made my first dress when I was in 5th grade, from some fabric that my great-grandmother brought back from a trip to Hawaii.  Little did I know that I would end up living in Hawaii and starting a sewing/embroidery business!  Since then I have moved with my husband  (now a retired Navy Senior Chief) to southern California and  now to Washington state.  The true spirit of 'aloha' introduced to me by my island friends will stay with me the rest of my life, no matter where I make my home.

My wonderful husband picked up on my intense interest of sewing and embroidery soon after we were married.  So, many years ago Tom surprised me with the gift of my very first embroidery machine!  Soon after receiving my wonderful Viking Designer 1, I picked up the art of digitizing, which I truly enjoy.

I have been a stay-at-home-mom for the past 23 years+ and have immensely enjoyed the time with my children (who are now adults, except for my teenage son who's still at home).  It has been a pleasure to teach my own children some of the 'home-crafts' of our predecessors (my great-great grandparents being pioneers).  We've enjoyed such things as candle-making and soap-making, and still enjoy the simple things such as home-made bread (yum!).  During these years, of course, sewing has been an integral part of my life, and  I have been hired by many to sew bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, do alterations (not my favorite!), etc.

It is a joy for me to be able to use my skills and interests in a home-business (and at the same time be able to home-school my son).  It is my priority to provide personalized customer care for you, and will do my utmost to satisfy my customers.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to write to me!

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you will check back, as I plan to continue adding to my site (I especially am excited  about plans to add more embroidery designs for home embroiderers!  So, keep checking back!)

Mahalo Nui Loa,

Carrie Powell
